George S. Jump, 87, of Independence, KY, passed away Sunday, February 12, 2017. George was retired from Ortner Freight Car Company as an electrician and was also employed by the Kenton County School System as a bus monitor for 14 years. He enjoyed playing cards and gardening. He was proud that he received his GED diploma at age 66. He was also very involved in the former Ryland Heights Lions Club. George is preceded in death by his beloved wife, Helen V. Jump, granddaughter; Margie Byrd and step-sons; Donny and Paul Snow. He is survived by daughters; Linda Parsons (Ron) and Barbara Jump, a step-son; Dennis Ray Snow (Letha), 4 grandchildren, 5 great-grandchildren and 3 great-great-grandchildren. Services for George will be held at Chambers & Grubbs Independence on Thursday, February 16, 2017. Visitation will be from 10 AM till 12 PM with the funeral service immediately following at 12 PM. Memorial donations are suggested to: Shriners' Burns Institute, 3229 Burnet Avenue Cincinnati, OH 45229-3095.
