Obituary of Margie Davis
Please share a memory of Margie to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Margie Bell Whitney Davis, ago 90, of Florence, KY passed into His Glory on Thursday, June 1, 2017 at St. Elizabeth Hospital.
Retiring from the Boone County Board of Education, Margie worked for the Boone County school system for many years in positions such as teacher, secretary and payroll clerk. She is a member of Florence Baptist where she enjoyed her Sunday school group, along with other church activities.
Margie found pleasure in cooking (especially new recipes), playing cards with her husband and working crossword puzzles. But her greatest joys were studying God's Word and spending time with her family and friends.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Rodney and Ora Whitney, her brothers, Bob and Bill Whitney, and other beloved family members (Grandparents, Aunts, Uncles, Sister in laws, Nieces and Nephews). What a joyous, ongoing reunion she is experiencing now in Heaven! This knowledge her family and friends celebrate.
Margie is survived by her loving husband of 65 years, Glenn Davis; daughter, Becky (Rodney) Osborne; son John Davis; brother, Frank (Clara) Whitney; grandchildren, Amy (Rick) Hughes, Jason Osborne, Jeremy (Nikki) Osborne, Ian (Sarah) Gordon, Alex (Linda) Davis, Caitlyn Davis and Joey Davis; great-grandchildren, Dalton and Grace Trusty, Talon, Kate, Mason, and Sadie Osborne, Elizabeth, Payton and Kayley Holt, Charity and Anna Gordon, Emberlyn, Autumn and Jeremiah Davis; and many nieces, nephews and other cherished family members and friends.
A visitation for Margie will be held on Monday, June 5, 2017 from 11a.m. until 1p.m. at Chambers and Grubbs Funeral Home in Florence. The funeral service will begin at 1PM, also at the funeral home.
A private interment will be the following day at Richwood Cemetery.
