Obituary of Geneva Speagle

Geneva Robinson Speagle, age 81, of Independence, died Tuesday, June 23, at St. Elizabeth Hospital in Edgewood. She was a retired Administrative Clerk for J.C. Penney's and a member of Hickory Grove Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, John Speagle, in 2006. Ms. Speagle is survived by her daughters, Brenda Thomas of Corbin, KY, Beverly Ivey of Taylor Mill, and Debi Lyons of Independence; sons, Mark Speagle of Burlington and Matt Speagle of Charlotte, NC; sisters, Leona Biddle and Comelia Cook of Grant County, KY; brother, Ray Robinson of Cincinnati; eight grandchildren and one great grandson. Visitation will be Friday from 5 to 8 p.m. at Chambers and Grubbs in Independence. Funeral service will be Saturday at 10 a.m. at the funeral home. Interment will be at Floral Hills Cemetery.
