Obituary of Vesta Patrick

GUNTERSVILLE, AL - Vesta Alice Ramey Hammond Patrick, 87, formerly of Covington, died Tuesday, June 23, at Marshall Medical Center of Guntersville, AL. She was a nurse at St. Elizabeth Hospital North Labor and Delivery Unit, member of Hickory Grove Baptist Church of Independence and Warrington Baptist Church of Guntersville, AL and loved her bird Sam. Her husband, John Hammond; sons, Mike, Ray, Jim, and Craig Hammond; daughters, Becky, Beth and Carole Moore; and one granddaughter died previously. Survivors include her husband, Frank Patrick of Guntersville; daughters, Judy Summers of Cincinnati, Rita Lucas of Guntersville, Deb Stamper of Ryland Heights, Sue Lilly of Lockport, Ill. and Tina Emerson of Hudsonville, Mich.; sons, Mark Hammond of Ryland Heights and Rick Hammond of Guntersville; sisters, Bill Mullins of Clintwood, VA, Venie Mullins of Bristol, VA and Adalee Mullins of Baltimore, MD; 20 grandchildren; many great - grandchildren; and many great - great - grandchildren. Visitation will be 11:30 a.m. - 1:30 p.m. Monday, July 6, with services following at Chambers & Grubbs Funeral Home, Independence. Burial will be in Floral Hills Memorial Gardens, Taylor Mill.
