I grew up walking to Riley's almost daily. Between Tom and Phil, Mrs. Hamilton and that other nice lady I was able to experience a part of history that will never be repeated. Looking at all those relics that Tom had saved and pinned to the walls above the shelves was some serious history he saved, items he enjoyed the stories about. It was hard to watch Tom struggle with what the new stores did to his business. He was a hard worker and I believe he was dead set in retiring from a business he loved very much. What people do not understand is the value that store and the people who made it a store, had created for our community. It was something that movies are made and stories are written about, but never replicated in true form. Thank you Tom for working so hard for what you believed in. I'm one kid that turned into an adult later in life that remembers and respects the daily efforts you made to provide for your family and community. May you rest in peace and remove yourself from all physical suffering here on earth. I thank you personally for the memories. Steve Nienaber HC Dunbar Plumbing

Dear Nancy and Children, We buried a father, husband, and Friend. I read all I can about heaven. I worked with a preacher and even though I had bible studies, I ask what happens when you die. He said you go to a paridise and it is beautiful. And at the end of time your body and soul will be one again. I lost my father he died at 58 I felt like I lost my best friend and I did. I feel at times he is near me. Heaven isn't as far as we think. Just remember Tom is with you and he will keep an eye on you and the kids. I truely believe that with my heart. My dad was dying in bed. I had to give him mouth to mouth with 911 on the line. My dad was dead on arrival. I had some things happen to me and I know he came to check on us. To the Family of Tom, I am so sorry for the loss of tom, I have known tom for a long time. He was my X-Brother in law. But I always referred him as my Brother In Law. He was a hard worker. I worked with him at Rileys Market. We always had fun and I will always remember the times we went to market and the times I helped him wrap meat. And the time I wrapped up christmas candy and he knew what I was doing, eating some of the product , He just laughed. We will all feel the loss of him. Tom being a Christian man I to am Christian. We know when we die we go to a beautiful place. It is a death to us, a new birth to him. He is busy now meeting and being welcome because he came home. Tom we will never forget you.
