Obituary of John T. Strange

John T. Strange, 71, of Independence, died Saturday at his home. He was a retired steel worker with Constellation Steel and Newport Steel, a foreman and welder with Clark Rigging Co. and an Air Force veteran of the Korean War. His wife, Betty Jo Ballou Strange, died in 2004. A daughter, Valencia Gail Strange, died in 1964.
Survivors include daughters, Cindy Kurtz of Fort Wayne, Ind., Linda Scott of Florence and Sheila Woodward of Independence; sons, Bruce Strange of Covington and Brian Strange of Burlington; a sister, Jean Kittle of Covington; brothers, William Strange of Falmouth and Robert Strange of Florence; 14 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday at Chambers and Grubbs Funeral Home, Florence. Visitation will begin there at 11 a.m. Tuesday. Burial will be in Floral Hills Cemetery, Taylor Mill. Memorials are suggested to St. Elizabeth Hospice Unit, 401 E. 20th St., Covington, Ky. 41014.
