Obituary of Marlene Kaelin

INDEPENDENCE - Marlene Theresa Gearding Kaelin, age 71, died Thursday, December 17, 2009 atHospice of St. Elizabeth Edgewood. She was a member of St. Cecilia Church and formerly worked over 14 years for Wendy's. Mrs. Kaelin was a woman of faith who had a love for birds. She raised 11 children and also always had her door open for friends of her children. Survivors include her husband, James C. Kaelin, Sr. of Independence; (4) daughters, Terri Muennich of Loveland, OH, Peg Cordray of Walton, and Lisa Petrie of Elkton, KY, and Marlayna Cooney of Taylor Mill; (7) sons, Jim Kaelin, Jr. of Florence, Tim Kaelin of Walton, Mike Kaelin of Florence, John Kaelin of Georgetown, KY, Tom Kaelin of Taylor Mill, David Kaelin of Lawrenceburg and Nick Kaelin of Independence; and (16) grandchildren. Visitation will be Monday, December 21, 2009 from 4 to 8 p.m. at Chambers and Grubbs in Independence. Mass of Christian Burial will be Tuesday at 11 a.m. at St. Cecilia Church, 5313 Madison Pike, Independence, KY 41051. Interment will be at St. Cecilia Cemetery. Memorials can be made to Charity of Choice or St. Cecilia Building Fund.
