Mary Fern Blanton Yount, 77, of Independence, passed away Tuesday, January 5, at St. Elizabeth Healthcare of Edgewood. Mrs. Yount was preceded in death by her daughter, Sherri Long.
She is survived by her spouse, Dennis Yount of Independence; 5 sons, Robert Yount of West Chester, OH, Michael Yount of Williamstown, Dennis Yount, Jr of Crittenden, Jeff Yount of Ft. Lauderdale, FL, and Keith Yount of Independence; daughter, Shan Oliver of Houston, TX; 2 brothers, Robert Blanton of Paintsville, KY, and David Blanton of Cynthiana; 3 sisters, Betty Carr of Columbus, NC, Helen Stafford of Paintsville, and Catherine Butcher of OH; and by 6 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren.
Visitation will be Saturday, January 9, 2010 from 9-10:30am at Chambers & Grubbs Funeral Home, Independence. The Funeral Service will be held at 10:30am also at the funeral home. Burial will take place at the Independence Cemetery, Independence, Kentucky. Memorial donations can be made to the Charity of the Donor's Choice.
