Obituary of Dennis Lafollette

PINER - Dennis "Dexter" LaFollette, 52, died Monday, Feb. 15, 2010, at St. Elizabeth Healthcare of Florence. He was a self-employed farmer who raised beef and dairy cattle, grew tobacco, was a member of Dairy Farmers of America rated as a gold standard dairy who milked for 32 years, Goshen Christian Church, Ohio River Valley Tractor Pullers Association, honorary member of Kenton County Fair Board, volunteer for the Piner Fire Department and a Battle of the Bluegrass Pulling Series participant. His wife, Edith Zerheusen LaFollette, died in 2005. Survivors include his sons, Justin and Aaron LaFollette, both of Piner; daughters, Kelly Stephens of Versailles and Katie Sheaffer of Piner; fiancée, Janice Sheaffer of Piner; father, Raymond LaFollette of Piner; and sisters, Rhonda Reeves of Florence and Sandy Turner of Speedwell, Tenn. Visitation will be 4-8 p.m. Friday, Feb. 19, with service at 10 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 20, at Chambers and Grubbs Funeral Home, Independence. Burial will be in Independence Cemetery. Memorials: Goshen Christian Church, 1773 Bracht-Piner Road, Piner, KY 41063.
