One of the saddest things to face as we get older is not only our own mortality, but the mortality of those around us we cherish. That extends beyond family and friends, and touches on the people who guided us along this journey called life. When taking Mr. Renshaw's shop class in 1991, I never thought I would ever need the skill of making things with wood again. I was so wrong. From little house building projects inside and out, I recall many of the fundamentals he instilled in me over 20 years ago. I remember his diligence and never allowing us to accept anything but first class workmanship. I guess it's the naivete of youth to believe all of your favorite instructors will always be there. Making it all the more saddening when one passes. Thanks for great memories, and great lessons, Mr. Renshaw. My condolences to his family, and friends.
