WALTON - George "Pete" Edward Black, 88, of Walton died Wednesday, March 10, 2010 at Ruleme Center of Eustis, FL. He was a rural mail carrier for the United States Post Office in Walton for 15 years; a milk inspector for Siltest Dairy of Cincinnati for 20 years; a 54 year member of Walton First Baptist Church; served on the Walton/Verona Board of Education for 8 years and an Army WWII Veteran receiving the Good Conduct Medal and Bronze Star. Survivors include his wife of 63 years Dortha J. Aylor Black; daughters Lana Jane Eads of Union and Lila Black Stansbury of Sarasota, FL; brother Charles "Jim" William Black of Union; 3 Grandchildren and 2 Great-Grandchildren. Visitation will be from 5-8 PM Wednesday, March 17, 2010 at Chambers and Grubbs Funeral Home of Walton. Funeral Service will be Thursday, March 18, 2010 at 12 Noon also at the Funeral Home. Burial will be in Hughes Chapel Cemetery. Memorials may be directed to Walton First Baptist Church, 47 S. Main St. Walton, KY 41094.
