All of you know what a special person Donnie was and if you needed help with something he was the first person to step-up. Over the last few days, we've heard many stories of what he as done to help family and friends. On behalf of his in-law family, we want everyone to know he was just as special in our hearts too. We liked to give him a hard time about not always coming to Portsmouth with Tracy....and of course he gave it right back!! But I think when he did visit, he enjoyed his time with us.
Although I've told a few people about this past Christmas together, I want to share this with anyone reading. If any of you knows my sister....well, let's just say she runs a bit behind sometimes. Getting ready for a trip home is no exception! By the time Tracy & family arrived it was later in the evening....and you could tell she was upset right when she walked through the door. In our family, we draw names for each other and buy for all the kids. Now keep in mind, Emily and Bradley are the youngest....with the other "kids" at 12, 16 and 18. Tracy had left their gifts in Burlington....of course, Tracy thought Donnie had them...Donnie thought Tracy had them...both pointing fingers at each other!! :-) To make a long story short....Donnie insisted on returning to Burlington that night and then coming back to Portsmouth the next morning....that's an extra 5 - 6 hours driving time!!! We all tried to talk him out of it...even the "kids", but he would have it no other way!! It would have been a lot simpler to just say, we'll bring them in next time, but that wasn't Donnie!!
We will all miss him more than we can say....and it hurts us so much to see our baby sister go through this horrendous time. We thank you all for your love and support for her...it's very difficult to have her away from us, but it is very comforting to see how much she is loved and cared for within the Wagoner family.
