Obituary of Ora Armstrong

INDEPENDENCE - Ora "Sinky" Petty Armstrong, age 98, died Saturday, May 8, 2010 at Rosedale Manor in Latonia. She was a retired cafeteria worker for the Kenton County Board of Education and a member of Hickory Grove Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by (2) husbands, Arnold Petty in 1943 and Harley Armstrong, Jr. in 1976; daughter, Connie Woodrum in 1992; and son, Carlos Petty in 2008. Survivors include (3) sons, Eldon Glenn Petty of Walton, Lowell Petty of Williamstown, and Harley Armstrong, III of Independence; (2) daughters, Harla Stamper of Burlington and Mary Beth Sams of Independence; sister, Beulah Carnes of Florence; (18) grandchildren, (28) great grandchildren; and (2) great-great grandchildren.
Visitation will be Monday, May 10, 2010 from 5 to 8 p.m. at Chambers and Grubbs in Independence. Funeral services will be Tuesday at 11 a.m. at the funeral home. Interment will be at Independence Cemetery.
