INDEPENDENCE - Ora "Sinky" Petty Armstrong, age 98, died Saturday, May 8, 2010 at Rosedale Manor in Latonia. She was a retired cafeteria worker for the Kenton County Board of Education and a member of Hickory Grove Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by (2) husbands, Arnold Petty in 1943 and Harley Armstrong, Jr. in 1976; daughter, Connie Woodrum in 1992; and son, Carlos Petty in 2008. Survivors include (3) sons, Eldon Glenn Petty of Walton, Lowell Petty of Williamstown, and Harley Armstrong, III of Independence; (2) daughters, Harla Stamper of Burlington and Mary Beth Sams of Independence; sister, Beulah Carnes of Florence; (18) grandchildren, (28) great grandchildren; and (2) great-great grandchildren. Visitation will be Monday, May 10, 2010 from 5 to 8 p.m. at Chambers and Grubbs in Independence. Funeral services will be Tuesday at 11 a.m. at the funeral home. Interment will be at Independence Cemetery. Memorials can be made to the Greater Cincinnati Alzheimer's Association, 644 Linn Street, Suite 1026, Cincinnati, OH 45203
