I would like to say that I am heartbroke to find out of Kenny's passing! I was always in competition with him in baseball while he was in Clinton County. He threw the best curve ball I ever tried to hit! Kenny always had a smile on his face and was a great guy. I will never forget him. My heartfelt sympathy goes out to his family and children and I know God will give you strength in this very difficult time. God Bless all of you! A spur of the moment camping trip that should never have happened. We had talked about going a couple of weeks earlier, but as the day approached to head to the RED RIVER gorge, the forecast did not look so good. On top of that Kenny got a truck in late at work, and said that he was just going to stay at home. After a little persuasion ( I could talk my brother into about anything) we decided to go. We arrived at the Gorge Thursday night, and we were able to find a perfect spot on a sandbar next to a stream. The rain hit us pretty hard the first night but we made some ponchos out of some garbage bags and just laughed it off as the rain pored down on us. The next day we had a beautiful sunny day. We gathered more firewood most of the day and just enjoyed hanging out and talking. It was the best trip we have ever had together, and I believe it was meant to happen against all odds. We got back to Winchester where we had met up a couple nights before. I had to shoot a wedding on Saturday night or we would have spent another night camping. We sat there and talked in the van for about a hour, said our goodbyes and I turned to look to see his bright yellow truck in my rear view mirror drive off. Never would I have thought that would be the last time I would see my brother. He called me later that day after he arrived home and made sure his little brother had made it home ok. We had planned to do it again this fall. He told me how much he loved me and I did the same. Just one day later he would be gone. I will see him again one day. I love you so much brother there is not enough space on here for me to fill. You have always been there to help me out in whatever way you could. I was your baby brother and you would do anything to protect me. Fly free brother, until we meet again.
