David Lee Linn, age 83 of Knoxville, died, Sunday, August 22, 2010, at Mercy Hospicein Knoxville, TN. He was retired from J. C. Penney's after 53 years where he was Promotional Manager. He was a veteran of WWII serving in the Merchant Marine and was a corporal in the United States Army. He is preceded in death by his parents, John and Mildred Linn, and sister, Patricia Shirley. He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Wilma Linn; sons, Mark Linn of Knoxville, and Steve Linn, of Knoxville; grandchildren, Brent Linn of Cincinnati, Ohio, Rachel Bonds of Athens, Ohio, and Deanna Linn of Knoxville; sister, Patti Drake.
In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to Beaverdale Baptist Church, 1701 Cunningham Road, Knoxville, TN 37918.
Graveside services will be Friday, August 27, 10:30 AM, at Big Bone Baptist Church Cemetery, Union, KY. Chambers & Grubbs Funeral Home in Florence will be handling the local arrangements.
