Obituary of Owen Oakes

Owen Russell Oakes, age 87, of Union, died Saturday, September 18, 2010 at Hospice of St. Elizabeth Hospice in Edgewood. He was a retired Switchman for Southern Railroad and a U.S. Army Veteran. Mr. Oakes was preceded in death by his son, Gerald Wayne Oakes in 2005. Survivors include his wife, Juanita Oakes of Union; and son, Gene Russell Oakes of Burlington.
Services were private & have been held. Chambers & Grubbs Funeral Home handled the arrangements.
Memorials can be made to Hospice of St. Elizabeth, 1 Medical Village Drive, Edgewood, KY 41017.
