Obituary of Sara Lockhart

Because of her faith in Jesus Christ, Sara Alberta Rich Lockhart, age 94, of Morning View, Kentucky, slipped quietly into the arms of her Lord on December 1, 2010. She was predeceased by her husband, Thomas Elwood Lockhart, in September, 1977 and her granddaughter, Pamela Lynne Lockhart in April, 1984. She was a longtime and faithful member of Piner Baptist Church. She proudly served as a volunteer at St. Elizabeth Hospital and a longtime member of the Kenton County Homemakers, Piner-Fiskburg Ladies Auxillary, the Eastern Star, and the Daughters of America. She is survived by her sons, Richard (Brenda) Lockhart and Thomas (Patricia) Lockhart of Morning View; Grandchildren, Patricia Callen of Piner, Paul Newman of Crittenden, Lisa Williams of Louisville, Chris Newman of Independence, Tricia Mann of Piner, and Emily Albers of Ft. Wright; 21 great grandchildren; and 8 great-great grandchildren. A visitation will be held at Chambers & Grubbs Funeral Home of Independence, Friday, December 3, 2010 from 4-8pm and Saturday, December 4, 2010 from 9:30 to 10:30am. The funeral service will follow at 10:30 am at the funeral home. She will be laid to rest at Independence Cemetery, Independence, Kentucky.
