Obituary of Peggy Hensley

Peggy L. Smith Hensley, age 68, of Independence, died Monday, December 6, 2010 at St. Elizabeth Healthcare of Edgewood. She was a retired accountant for Good Samaritan Hospital and volunteered at the New Hope Center. Mrs. Hensley was also a member of Community Family Church in Independence, where she taught Sunday School, helped with Missionettes, and volunteered in the church office. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Penny Henning; parents, Elmer & Christine Smith; brother, Gary L. Smith; and sister, Sandy Norris. Survivors include her loving husband of 52 years, James Hensley; daughter, Karen Hatfield (Barry) of Taylor Mill; son, Mike Hensley (Gayle) of Independence; sisters, Linda Deaton of Liberty Township, OH and Ruth Lally of Union Township, OH; five grandchildren, Matt Hatfield (Carissa), Ashley Collins (Brent), Kaitlyn Hensley, Austin Hensley, Taylor Hensley; and great grandson, Brady Hatfield. Visitation will be Thursday, December 9, 2010 from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Chambers & Grubbs in Independence. Funeral services will be Friday at 11 a.m. at Community Family Church, 11875 Taylor Mill Rd., Independence, KY 41051.
