When I was married to David, going to Granny's on Sunday was a must. It's just what we did. It's what she wanted. It's what everybody did. And now that so many years have passed and I don't have anything like that in my life anymore I cannot express how important it should be for every family to do this.
The atmosphere was always welcoming and friendly. Glenda is a big part of what made that feeling. She was bubbly and happy all the time. Enjoyed the family, enjoyed all the kids, enjoyed everyone's company. Laughing, joking, all the time, she always made me feel comfortable. Of course the whole family was always good to me, but I remember Glenda as seeming to be the most jovial and for some reason the most like Granny in her ways. There was always lots of food to eat, but I remember Glenda searching Granny's cabinets for "just a little something else" I guess she thought we all looked skinny because she always tried to get us to eat more. I remember her making jello there alot. I don't know if it's because she liked it, all the kids liked it, or it's just all she could find extra in the cubbard. She always wanted to please and take care of everybody. "Do you have enough?, Do you want some more? Let me help you get that."
It is so hard for me to imagine how ill she had become since I did not see her often over the years. I will remember Glenda as a special lady who always smiled and have always considered her family even though David and I divorced years ago. She will always be my Aunt Glenda as well.
