Obituary of Atha Polly

Atha Spicer Polly, age 97, of Morning View, died Saturday, February 5, 2011, at Hospice of St. Elizabeth Edgewood. She was a former assembler for Queen City Dinette and a member and former Sunday School Teacher at Kenton Baptist Church. Ms. Polly enjoyed gardening, working outside, and spending time with her family. Her husband, Lelan Polly and sons, Tommy and Ralph Polly preceded her in death. Survivors over six generations include her daughters, Versie Mahan of Morning View, Ida Mackin of Florence, Etta Sue Gabbard of Jackson, Lena Dennis of Morning View, and Lenora Bellamy of Independence; sons, E.J. Polly of Erlanger and Decoursey Polly of Dayton; sister, Lola Turner of Alexandria; brothers, Decoursey Spicer of Columbus, Arnold Spicer of Trenton, OH, Leland Spicer of Trenton, OH, and Bobby Spicer of Edgewood; (24) grandchildren; (45) great grandchildren; (36) great-great grandchildren; (1) great-great-great grandchild.
Visitation will be Wednesday, February 9, 2011 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Chambers & Grubbs Funeral Home in Independence. Funeral services will begin at 1 p.m. Interment will be at Wilmington Cemetery in Morning View.
