I was fortunate too have met Bob way back in the mid 70's, while we were working at P&G's Engineering Div. Bob handled the turmoil at Procter with calm and cool, and we wound up working at Belcan/BGP, still doing P&G work; for many years after that. Bob worked hard and was serious about results.
We "lunched" many, many times at the Bowling Alley in Blue Ash. At the completion of a really demanding project, we all celebrated with lunch and I had a "little too much liquid libation". The chief and the rest of the team went back to the office; Bob stayed with me, brought me back; filled me with gallons of coffee; assuring I was OK to drive home. Rumor/fact, Bob had Cliff the bartender, refilling me with doubles...that's what friends are for.
We enjoyed Bob's family, & great hospitality at a pool party. I remember Bob always having a coffee thermos and a smoke. As so often happens, when we're all caught up in working and family; we lose touch with good friends. I consider it an honor to have known, and worked with Bob.
My wife and I send our most sincere condolences and prayers to Diana and the entire family. Jim & Kate Rainey

Alison and family, I'm so sorry for your loss. Bob was a great man and he went too soon. He was always very kind to me and I felt he was as close as I ever had to a grandfather. My thoughts will be with you and the family as you move through this difficult time. I'll be there for you whenever you need me.

Last summer, Grandpa had spent entirely too much time outside. He looked so goofy with his dark skin, and bright white hair and mustache. Anyone who knows me knows that I simply do not tan at all, and even though I spent a lot of that summer out on the lake fishing or up at the pool, I had nothing to show for it.
In August, my best friend and I took a road trip down to Disney World. Down there, I probably didn't wear all the sunscreen I could have, but I never burned. In fact, I got (what I thought) was a nice, even tan. When I got home, I went up to Grandma and Grandpa's and was showing off my pictures. That day, I was wearing the same flip flops that I'd worn in Florida, so I said to grandpa, "Check out my tan lines," and removed my shoe. As pale as I was, the tanline was ghost white. He giggled at me and said, "Oh yeah? Look at mine," and removed his sandal. He had two big tan squares on his otherwise pale white feet!

This may sound silly but one of my fondest memories of Uncle Bob was way back in 1988 when Katie was learning her multiplications! For some reason she just couldn't remember what 6x7 equaled. I remember Uncle Bob trying so hard to teach her the answer and somehow during all the teaching we came up with a solution. Bob was 42 years old at the time and I remember saying...Ok Katie just remember that 6x7 equals my dads age! Uncle Bob chuckled and said, well thats fine for now Julie but what about next year! I told him she could always say 6x7 equals my dads age minus 1.....and so on for the following years. Not sure if it actually worked but to this day whenever the thought of 6x7 comes up even with my own children...I think of Uncle Bob. He is and always will be a wonderful man....that will never die. He sure made a big impact on my daughter and she barely knew him but the love he had for people made a tremendous impact on everyone he came into contact with. His memorie will live on forever in my heart! I love you!
