Obituary of Ray Baldwin

Ray E. Baldwin, age 78 of Independence, passed away Wednesday, March 16, 2011, at his residence. He was a retired Engineer for Conrail Railroad, Korean War Army Veteran, a 50 plus year member of Bradford Lodge #123, 50 plus year member of the Scottish Rite, member of VFW Post #6095, and the Locomotive Engineers Union, who enjoyed playing poker and watching horse racing. He was preceded in death by his Parents, James and Zula Baldwin and 4 siblings. Mr. Baldwin was survived by his loving wife of 54 years, Bert Baldwin, daughter Paula Rae Baldwin of Seminole, Fl., sons Brent Baldwin of Independence and Max Baldwin (Karen) of Independence, 5 grandsons and 5 great-grandchildren. A visitation will be held on Monday, March 21, 2011 from 5-8 p.m. at Chambers & Grubbs Funeral Home of Independence. The funeral service will be Tuesday at 11 a.m. also at the funeral home. Mr. Baldwin will be laid to rest at Wilmington Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to: Hospice of St. Elizabeth, 1 Medical Village Drive, Suite 213, Edgewood, Kentucky 41017.
