My fondest memories of Fred Jr. was waiting for the bus at the mouth of the creek. It would be very foggy, and Fred would be singing as he came down the creek, so you could hear him long before he stepped out of fog. Such a happy person, and one whom will be sorely missed. Prayers and best wishes to Lenora and the family.

I wish i knew how to say goodbye to my hero? I have spent my adult life attempting to walk in my fathers footsteps, although I always knew I could never fill those shoes, If I can be half the man, father, husband, provider and railroader that he was that would be enough for me. All I ever wanted was to make my father proud of me and I beleive that he was. He would tell me all the time, "son I am so proud of the man that you have become" but standing in his shadow it just never seemed enough. Dad gave me a plaque a while ago that his father gave to him before grandpa passed away, it sums up dad's mission in life and now mine, and it reads....
..... B E L L A M Y .....
YOU GOT IT FROM YOUR FATHER, IT WAS ALL HE HAD TO GIVE.
SO IT'S YOURS TO USE AND CHERISH, FOR AS LONG AS YOU MAY LIVE.
IF YOU LOOSE THE WATCH HE GAVE YOU, IT CAN ALWAYS BE REPLACED.
BUT A BLACK MARK ON YOUR NAME, SON, CAN NEVER BE ERASED.
IT WAS CLEAN THE DAY YOU TOOK IT, AND A WORTHY NAME TO BEAR.
WHEN HE GOT IT FROM HIS FATHER, THERE WAS NO DISHONOR THERE.
SO MAKE SURE YOU GUARD IT WISELY, AFTER ALL IS SAID AND DONE.
YOU'LL BE GLAD THE NAME IS SPOTLESS, WHEN YOU GIVE IT TO YOUR SON..
I will carry the name with pride DAD, and I know Vaedyn will do the same. I love you so very much and thank you for all that you have done. I keep this hanging above my desk at home for a constant reminder. I have no idea how to say goodbye to you or how to let go. ALL please pray for me and my family, we have truely lost our hero.

I am so sorry for your loss. Fred was a great man with a big heart. I don't believe that I ever saw him without a smile on his face no matter how bad the day was. I will always be grateful to have had the opportunity to sit and talk with him. You and your family will be in our thoughts and prayers.

What can I say about the best father in the world? I have so many wonderful memories with my Dad. Family was the most important thing to Dad, other than the Lord. Everything he did, he did it for us, his family. All of the long hours and lost sleep was all for his family.
We always had fireworks when we went to Jackson, Ky for Christmas growing up. It was our little tradition. He would always play Texas Hold'em with us at the cabin at Thanksgiving, another tradition, when he really didn't care for Texas Hold'em. And when he won he would always insist on giving our money back along with gas money to get home. I remember one year for Christmas, he kept trying to get Jeremiah and I to get firewood out of the garage but we didn't want to. We just couldn't figure out why firewood was so important. When we went out to the garage, he had a shiny two seater go-kart for Jeremiah and I. We were so excited. When we went on our family vacations he would always tell Jeremiah and I to ride the go-karts as many times as we wanted, get that extra scoop of ice cream, or whatever we wanted "because we are on vacation."
I guess the cabin in Cumberland was one of his prized possessions. He built it from the ground up and it was built with his family in mind. We had 11 wonderful years completely full of memories with Dad and the cabin. Laughter, good food, cards and games, mud pies, four wheelers, good food, pontoon rides, corn hole, good food, laughter, and good food. He was very proud of his grandchildren! He loved them all and would do anything for them. He always kept his pocket change and divided it up into five jars, with the grandkid's names on them and when it came time, he gave them an envelope full of money for them to put in their savings accounts, which he started for them.
My Dad taught us many things. He often said, "Always make friends, because you never know when you might need them." "Keep your name clean, it's the most important thing you own." "You can tell alot about a person by how clean they keep their car." "Washing your car without cleaning the wheels is like taking a shower without washing your hair." "Your education is very important, don't take it lightly." Those are just a few words of wisdom my Dad bestowed upon us while growing up.
He was the definition of unconditional love. He was very wise, intelligent, caring, patient, handsome, thoughtful, understanding, forgiving, Christian man. As far as I know, Dad never made an enemy, everyone who met him, loved him. The world is a lesser place because of his absence. My heart has a huge hole that will never be filled.
I love you Dad and I'll see you soon.

I feel so blessed for Fred to have been such a huge part of my life for the past 13 years!!!! No one could ask for a better father-n-law!!!! No one could ask for a better grandpa for their children!!! He beamed with pride when he was around his wife, children and grandchildren!! The loss we feel is UNBEARABLE!!! But we also know that he is with our LORD and in no pain!!!! He will forever be a part of our lives and loved more than anyone knows!!!!!
