Obituary of Charles E. Hempfling

Charles E. "Buck" Hempfling, 89, of Fort Thomas, died Monday at Highlands of Fort Thomas nursing home. He was a retired supervisor with Butternut Bread Co., a farmer and a member of Demossville Masonic Lodge. Survivors include a son, James Hempfling of New Richmond; daughters, Joyce Johnson of Independence and Virginia Murray of Augusta; nine grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren and six great-great-grandchildren. Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Chambers and Grubbs Funeral Home, Independence. Visitation will be from 5 to 8:30 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Independence Cemetery. Memorials are suggested to Morning View United Methodist Church, Route 177 and Rich Road, P.O. Box 13, Morning View, Ky. 41063; or American Cancer Society, 6612 Dixie Highway, Suite 2A, Florence, Ky. 41042
