Obituary of Thelma Pearl Haynes

     Thelma Pearl Haynes, of Independence, KY passed away surrounded by her loving family at Florence Park Care Center on Saturday, August 5, 2017 at the age of 94.

     She was born in Somerset, KY on January 28, 1923; the daughter of John and Charity Baker. Thelma retired from Kenton County School, having worked as a cook.  She was a member of Hickory Grove Baptist Church and enjoyed cooking and sewing.

     Thelma was preceded in death by her cherished husband, Roy Haynes; son, Pete Haynes; daughter, Darlyne Haynes; sisters, Marie Pritchard, Irene Roark and Madeline Williams and brother, Joe Baker.

     She is survived by her daughter, Vicki (Dan) Smock; sons, David (Alice) Haynes and Dennis (Debbie) Haynes; sisters, Fannie Defau, Beulah Hail and Zula Sears; 13 grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren; as well as other relatives and friends.

     Visitation for Thelma will be held from 10:00 AM until the time of the funeral service at 12:00 PM on Friday, August 11, 2017 at Hickory Grove Baptist Church, 11969 Taylor Mill Rd, Independence, KY 41051. Burial will immediately follow at Floral Hills Cemetery, Taylor Mill, KY.
