Obituary of Aaron Braxton Farris
Aaron “Brackie” Braxton Farris, age 80, of Florence, passed away on Friday, August 25, 2017 at St. Elizabeth Hospital.
He was a United States Airforce Veteran and a member of Northern Kentucky First Church of God. He retired from General Motors and worked as a forklift operator in the materials department.
Aaron was recognized as a Kentucky Colonel and was known as the “Mayor of Sanders Dr.” He enjoyed boating, watching John Wayne westerns and sitting on his front porch.
Aaron is preceded in death by his parents, Amon and Maude (nee Messer) Farris, sister, Vincenta Ayers and brothers, David, Charles and Offord Farris.
He is survived by his loving wife of 57 years, Sallie (nee Clay); children, David (Janet) Farris, Donna (Kurt) Hinzman, Christina (Jerry) Cahall and George (Dana) Farris; sister, Elma Ballinger; grandchildren, Sara, Aaron, Jessica, Michael, Brian, Matthew, Cassie, Ashley, Timothy, Jeremy, Stephanie, Marie, Ashley, Samantha, John, Christina, Jasmine and Shiloh; 30 great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces and nephews and many other loving family members and friends.
A visitation for Aaron will be held on Friday, September 1, 2017 from 10AM until 12PM at Chambers and Grubbs Funeral Home in Independence. The Funeral Service will begin at 12PM, also at the funeral home.
Interment with full Military Honors will be at Independence Cemetery.
