Obituary of Lon "Junebug" Webster, Jr.
Lon “Junebug” Webster, Jr. of Independence, KY passed away at St. Elizabeth Hospital in Edgewood, KY on Monday, October 2, 2017 at the age of 86.
He was born in Kenton County, KY on January 18, 1931; the son of Lon and Lillian Webster, Sr. “Junebug” was a retired truck driver and served in the United States Army during the Korean War and Vietnam War. He also was a lifetime member of the local VFW, DAV and American Veterans.
“Junebug” was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Sakae “Fumi” Webster; son, Charles “Pineapple” Webster; sisters, Edna Kemper, Bertha Bowling, Marie Beers, Stella Brown, Lillian Webster and Wilma Dejanario; brothers, Russell “Big Man” Webster, Jerry “Buttons” Webster, and Palmer Webster.
He is survived by his brother, David “Poodle” Webster; care giver and friend, Janet Fornash; furry friend and faithful companion, Bugsy; as well as many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
A visitation for “Junebug” will be held from 10:00 AM until the time of the funeral service at 12:00 PM on Friday, October 6, 2017 at Chambers & Grubbs Funeral Home, Independence. Burial will immediately follow at Floral Hills Cemetery.
