Obituary of John P Scheper

John P. Scheper, age 73, of Independence, KY, passed away Thursday, October 19, 2017 at his residence.  He was a retired Educator and Coach and had worked for the Campbell County, Walton Independent, Carroll County, Newport Independent, and Boone County School Systems.  John was passionate about sports and coaching, was an avid golfer, meticulous about his lawn, and loved Xavier University basketball.  He was a member of St. Cecilia Catholic Church and had also previously coached youth baseball for the Dixie Knothole league. 

His brothers, Dr. William Scheper and James Scheper preceded him in death.  He is survived by his wife, Zeita Hall Scheper; children, Kent Scheper (Amanda), Traci Zimmerman (Dan), and Jeff Scheper; sister, Janet Beckroege (Bruce); sisters-in-law, Mary Ann Scheper and Joyce Scheper; grandchildren, Brooke Scheper, Jordan Scheper, Carter Zimmerman, Parker Zimmerman, Ethan Zimmerman, Zach Scheper, Raegan Scheper, and Bailey Staderman; and great grandson, Tucker Schaber. 

Visitation will be Sunday, October 22, from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Chambers and Grubbs Funeral Home in Independence.  An additional visitation will be held Monday, October 23, 2017 from 11 a.m. until time of the Mass of Christian Burial at 12 noon at St. Cecilia Catholic Church, 5313 Madison Pike, Independence, KY 41051. 

Memorial donations may be made to St. Elizabeth Hospice or the St. Cecilia Church Building Fund.
