Clarence L. Pinney, 85, of Independence passed away Tuesday May 1, 2012 at St. Elizabeth Healthcare of Edgewood. He was an iron worker for Union 292 and a United States Army Veteran. Clarence enjoyed camping and was a member of the Independence American Legion Post # 275. He was preceded in death by his parents Clarence Pinney and Mable Hatfield, parents-in-law Wilbur and Mildred Sawdon, and son Michael Pinney. Survivors include his loving wife of 62 years Beverly Sawdon Pinney; daughters Dawn (Gary) Sander of Union, Debra (Thomas) Sketch of Park Hills, Nanciann Pinney of Erlanger; sons Douglas (Lisa) Pinney of Walton, David (Nancy) Pinney of Liberty, IN, John Pinney of Lutz, FL; sister Jean Speheger of Plymouth, IN; 16 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren and his dog Charlie.
Visitation will be Friday, May 4, 2012 from 10:30 AM until time of funeral service at 12:30 PM at Chambers and Grubbs Funeral Home of Independence. Burial will be at Kentucky Veterans Cemetery North in Williamstown.
