Obituary of Patricia "Kitty" Kathleen Jarboe

     Patricia “Kitty” Kathleen Jarboe, of Covington, KY passed away at her home surrounded by her loving family on Tuesday, November 14, 2017 at the age of 82.

     She was born in Lebanon, KY on February 3, 1935; the daughter of Henry Thomas and Mattie (nee Tungate) Garrett. Kitty retired from the IRS after many years of service as a reviewer and was a member at St. Patrick Church in Independence, KY. She enjoyed traveling to places with sunshine and beaches and enjoyed flower gardening. Kitty also enjoyed bowling, dancing, playing cards, making ceramics and painting. She was a long time animal lover to all creatures big or small. Her greatest joy in life, however, was spending time with her beloved family, especially her grandchildren whom she loved dearly.

     Kitty was preceded in death by her devoted husband, Joseph Eugene Jarboe; parents, Henry and Mattie Garrett; step-mother, Mary Garrett; sister, Louise Sexton and brothers, Harlan (Mabel) Garrett and Mack (Mary Ann) Garrett.

     She is survived by her cherished children, Denice (Mike) Butler, Jeff Jarboe, Jena (Ric) Latz, Jamie Jarboe and Jackie (Kevin) Marita; siblings, Marguerite (dec. Lucian) Sallee, Oliver “Juney” (Catherine) Garrett, Gladys Jean Childress, John (Gertie) Sallee, Linda (David) Quinn, Audrey (Jerry) Kirkland, Shirley (Leonard) Richardson and Emmie (Bobby) Edwards; grandchildren, Evan Israel, Chelsea (Kyle) Israel-Thompson, Matt Jarboe, Lilly Jarboe, Eric Latz, Emily Latz, Jessica Jarboe, Garrett Jarboe, Madeline Marita, Oli Marita, and Bella Marita; four legged friend and faithful companion, Pepper; as well as many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

     A visitation for Kitty will be held from 2:00 PM until 8:00 PM on Friday, November 17, 2017 at Chambers & Grubbs Funeral Home, Independence. A Mass of Christian Burial will take place the following day, Saturday, November 18, 2017 at 11:00 AM at St. Cecilia Roman Catholic Church, 5313 Madison Pike, Independence, KY 41051. Burial will immediately follow at Independence Cemetery.

     Memorials in Kitty’s name may be given to the Kenton County Animal Shelter, 1020 Mary Laidley Rd, Fort Mitchell, KY 41017.
