Obituary of Brenda Sue Johnson

Brenda Sue Johnson, age 69, of Independence, KY passed away on Saturday, December 16, 2017 at St. Elizabeth Hospital in Edgewood, KY. 

She was a homemaker and a member of Grant’s Lick Baptist Church. Brenda enjoyed cooking, sewing, gardening, and country music, but most of all she enjoyed spending time with her family. 

Brenda is preceded in death by her mother, Ruby Sue Cumminsky. She is survived by her loving husband of 53 years, Gillis Johnson; children, Terry Johnson, Rodney Johnson, Michael Johnson, and Kristen Johnson who took great care of her mother over the years; grandchildren, Christopher “Brother” Brown, Jarvis Brown, Kyle Copley, Emily Holbrook, Alyssa Jo Johnson, Ava Grace Johnson; faithful companion, Stitch; along with many other relatives and friends.

Visitation will be Friday, December 22, 2017 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. with a funeral service immediately following at 1 p.m. at Chambers and Grubbs Funeral Home in Independence.  Interment will be at Independence Cemetery, Independence, Ky.
