Obituary of James Henry Thompson

James Henry Thompson, Jr., age 75, of Florence, formerly of Taylor Mill, passed away Sunday, February 18, 2018 at St. Elizabeth Medical Center in Florence.  He was a retired Assembly Line Technician for General Motors and enjoyed following the Reds, Bengals, and U.K.  His daughter, Kimberly Susan Thompson preceded him in death.  He is survived by his wife, of 53 years, Kathryn Susan New Thompson; children, James Michael Thompson (Lina), Debra Glore (Jeffery), Jennifer Jones (Brian), Christopher Thompson (Emily), Melinda Boertlein (Chip); grandchildren, Tanner, Trevor, Luca, Giulian, Tyler Kayla, Olivia, Katie, Abby, Emma, Maggie, Henry, Clara, and Ava; great-grandchild, Kinslee; and sisters-in-law, Patricia Wilson and Teresa Rich (John); and brother-in-law, Frank New (Lois).  Visitation will be Wednesday, February 21, 2018 from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Chambers and Grubbs Funeral Home in Independence.  The Mass of Christian Burial will take place Thursday, February 22, 2018 at 1 p.m. at St. Timothy Church in Union, KY.  Interment will be at St. Mary’s Cemetery in Ft. Mitchell, KY.  Memorials may be made to the American Lung Assoication’s National office, 55 W.
