Obituary of Martin Joseph Sosso

Martin Joseph Sosso, of Independence, KY joined his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Wednesday, March 21, 2018 at age of 66. He was born in Tulsa, OK on August 5, 1951; the son of Robert and Joanne Sosso.

Martin was a devout Catholic, beloved husband and father. Martin proudly served his country as a 2^nd Lieutenant Combat Engineer in the Army Corps of Engineers. His greatest joy was spending time with his cherished family.

Martin was preceded in death by his father, Robert G. Sosso and grandson, Jacob A. Schmidt.

He is survived by his loving wife of 26 years, Christina Ventura Sosso; children, Anna Sosso, Catherine Sparks, Amanda Beplay and Christine Kannenberg; step-children, Elizabeth Schmidt, Joshua Schmidt, Angela Petringelo, and Nickolaus Schmidt; grandchildren, Gabriel Sparks, Alice Beplay, Cheryl Beplay, Kaine Kannenberg, Lydia Rose Schmidt, Luke Petringelo, Olivia Petringelo, Lily Lea, Landon Lea, Andrew Schmidt, Kailey Schmidt, David Schmidt and Alisa Schmidt; mother, Joanne Sosso; siblings, Jerome Sosso, Mary Clare Sosso, Lawrence Sosso, Corrinne Sosso, Gregory Sosso, Mike Sosso, Gordon Sosso, Joe Sosso, Paul Sosso, Stephen Sosso and Roberta Coolon; as well as many other relatives and friends.

Vigil prayers will be held on Monday, March 26, 2018 at Chambers and Grubbs Funeral Home in Independence from 6PM until 8PM. Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 10AM on Tuesday, March 27, 2018 at St. Mary’s Cathedral Basilica of the Assumption, 1140 Madison Ave, Covington, KY 41011. Interment will immediately follow with Military Honors at St Cecilia Cemetery.
