Obituary of Robert "Bob" Hansell Feldhaus
Robert “Bob” Hansell Feldhaus, age 89, of Rabbit Hash, passed away surrounded by his family on Wednesday, March 28, 2018 at Thomson-Hood Veterans Center in Lexington.
He was born to the late Albert Sr. and Edna (nee Delph) Feldhaus on April 15, 1928 in Union, KY. Bob was a United States Marine Veteran Semper Fi who served in the Korean War Battle of Chosin Reservoir, which he was extremely proud of and was a member of the American Legion Post#4.
He worked as a heavy equipment operator for Belleview Gravel and was a member of East Bend Baptist Church. Bob enjoyed playing cards, farming, gardening and widdling in his younger years, helping and hanging out at the Rabbit Hash General Store, and going to the casino. He never met a stranger and was always full of stories to share.
Bob is preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Estelle; brother, Albert Feldhaus Jr.; sister, Audrey Feldhaus; and sons, Gary and Paul Feldhaus.
Bob is survived by his beloved children, Vicki Baxter (John), Bonnie Brown (Roger), Sharon Browning (Bud), Brenda “Benny” VanDresar (James), Susan Feldhaus, Anita Pauly, Ronald Feldhaus and Andrea Farrington (George); sister, Betty “Sis” Doane; grandchildren, Tony, Jenny, Nate, Sarah, Emily, Jamie, Katie, Ashley, Brittany, Caitlin, Megan, Morgan, Kayla, Cody, Ryan, Dustin and Courtney; 15 great-grandchildren and many other nieces, nephews, family members and friends.
A Graveside Service will take place on Monday, April 2, 2018 beginning at 2PM at Belleview Baptist Cemetery with full Military Honors.
A celebration of Bob’s life will continue immediately following the service at the Rabbit Hash General Store, 10021 Lower River Rd, Burlington, KY 41005.
Memorial donations in lieu of flowers are suggested to the Rabbit Hash General Store or to the American Legion Post #4, 8385 US-42, Florence, KY 41042.
