Dear Bill, Rachel, and Beverly's treasured grand-daughters, It is with sorrow but much love to write to you all regarding the loss of Beverly's unique and wonderful spirit. She was one of my most favorite of cousins, and nobody could make me laugh more--often at myself--thanks to her often dry, perceptive wisdom. She was a sensitive and kind person to my family, particularly my Mom and my sister Cindi. I am particularly grateful to have been able to see her once again along with all of you, and most especially her grand-daughters, at the 2012 Hagan family reunion. Despite the many years since we had last seen each other, we were back in synch talking and laughing instantly. There never really are the right words to express such grief for so special a loving and loved person like Beverly. I do pray, though, that you all find your way through this painful time bound by all the love, laughter, and tender-heartedness she created and shared with you as family. This may be cliche people say at times like this, but it is the truth: Beverly will always be remembered and treasured by all of us in our hearts. Love, Tommy Westerfield

I was so sorry and shocked to hear the news about Beverly. Thinking of her and all of the “Hagan boys” brought back a lot of memories of when all of you would come back to Selma in the summers to visit with Grandma Tanton. Sandra and I send you our heartfelt sympathy in the passing of my cousin Beverly. I can’t begin to imagine how hard this has been, especially as it was so unexpected. My Hagen cousins are so dear to me and I have wonderful memories of playing with Beverly , who was my age, during her summer trips to Selma. I admired the fact that she could handle not just one but seven brothers and we eagerly anticipated their annual visits. I just saw Mike when he hunted on my farm two weeks ago and was so upset to receive this sad news from him. This Easter season reminds us of the promise of eternal life and of what a comfort it is to know that Beverly is with her Lord and was welcomed into Heaven by Uncle George and Aunt Lillian.
