Obituary of Krista L. Kaelin

Krista L. Merten Kaelin, 48, of Ft. Wright, KY passed away on Wednesday, April 4, 2018 after fighting a lengthy illness. She was born on May 8th, 1969; the daughter of Albert Eugene “Mickey” and Mary Lee Merten.

Krista was a member of St. Agnes Church in Ft. Wright. She took great pride in her career as a hair stylist.  She enjoyed the outdoors, music, dancing and watching her two sons play sports. Her greatest joy, however, was spending time with her friends and family.  Krista was a compassionate and caring person who touched many lives. She will forever be known for her sweet spirit and beautiful smile.

She is preceded in death by her father, Albert Eugene “Mickey” Merten and brother, Mike Merten.

Krista is survived by her loving husband, Mark Kaelin; sons, Alec and Tyler Kaelin; mother, Mary Lee Merten; siblings, Gina (Steve) Keith, Gary (Julianne) Merten, Randy (Tammy) Merten, Janelle Merten, Nica (Jeff) Ward; several nieces and nephews; as well as many other relatives and friends.

A visitation for Krista will take place from 4:00 PM until the time of Mass of Christian Burial at 7:00 PM on Tuesday, April 10, 2018 at St. Agnes Catholic Church, 1680 Dixie Hwy, Fort Wright, KY 41011. Burial will take place on Wednesday, April 11, 2018 at 11:00 AM at St. Mary’s Cemetery in Fort Mitchell, KY.
