Obituary of C.M. (Billie) Collier
C.M. (Billie) Collier nee: Hancock of Independence, died on April 29th at St. Elizabeth in Edgewood. Billie was born in Cincinnati, OH to Wallace and Viola Hancock on January 25, 1930. She grew up in Ryland Heights, KY and graduated from Simon Kenton High School. Soon after she married her sweetheart William (Bill). Billie was a homemaker and bookkeeper for Collier Construction. She also worked for 11 years as receptionist for McAlpin’s Hair Salon. She was a member of Independence Christian, enjoyed classic movies, traveling with her family, the theater and her kitty cats. Billie is preceded in death by her parents; husband, William Collier; sons, Steven David and William Michael Collier and brother, Wallace Hancock. Billie’s memory will live on in the hearts of her children who survive her, Linda and Jeff Collier. A visitation will be held on Thursday, May 3rd at Chambers and Grubbs Chapel in Independence from 11AM – 1PM, with services to immediately follow. Burial will take place after the service at Independence Cemetery. Donations can be made in Billie’s name to the American Heart Association 5211 Madison Rd.
