Obituary of Timothy "Timmy" Downs

Timothy “Timmy” Downs, age 53, of Independence, passed away on Sunday, May 6, 2018 at St. Elizabeth Hospital in Edgewood. Timmy enjoyed singing, fishing, hunting, golfing and coaching sports. Timmy was a member of the 1981 Simon Kenton State Championship Basketball Team. He was known to many as a big friendly giant with the voice of an angel.

Timmy is preceded in death by his parents James and Carol Downs; grandparents, Andy and Nell Bailey.

He is survived by his siblings, Melissa (Mark) O’Brien, Todd (Tressa) Downs, Terry (Sheila) Downs; uncle, Andy (Margie) Bailey; nieces and nephews, Chris (Nancy) O’Brien, Kelly (Jimi) Lindsey, Cooper (Abbey) Downs, Beau Downs, Colten Downs, Bailey Downs; cousins, Brian (Jody) Bailey, Heather (Zach) Reffitt; as well as many other relatives and friends.

A visitation for Timmy will be held on Thursday, May 10, 2018 from 11 AM until the time of the Funeral Service, 1PM, at Chambers and Grubbs Funeral Home in Independence. Interment will immediately follow at Evergreen Cemetery in Southgate, KY.
