Obituary of Kenneth Morris Eaton

Kenneth Morris Eaton, 69, was quiet and caring Kenneth Morris Eaton was quiet but caring. He and his wife left Kentucky for five years to help run a home for abused children in Georgia, said their daughter, Kim Gifford, of Burlington. "He would try to teach them discipline," she said. Mr. Eaton, 69, of Morning View, died Monday at St. Elizabeth North Hospice, Covington. He was dedicated to his church, Highland Avenue Wesleyan Church, in Covington. It was because of his faith that he accepted the mission at the children's home, his daughter said. He was a retired plumbing contractor from Statewide Plumbing. In his spare time, he loved camping, fishing and hunting. He would pack up the family and their boat and camper and take them to places like Lake Cumberland and Gatlinburg, Tenn. His wife, Laverne, said he was quiet most of the time, except when he was outdoors doing the things he loved. A daughter, Kathy Kirsch, preceded him in death. In addition to his wife and daughter, survivors include sons, Kenneth Ray Eaton of Ludlow and David Eaton of Owen County; daughters, Brenda Wolfe of Pendleton County and Debbie Mae Turner of Morning View; 19 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Independence Cemetery. Memorials are suggested to Highland Avenue Wesleyan Church, 729 Highland Ave., Covington, Ky. 41011. Chambers & Grubbs Funeral Home, Independence, is handling arrangements.
