     Kathleen Chapman, of Demossville, KY passed away at St. Elizabeth Hospital in Edgewood, KY on Saturday, June 2, 2018 at the age of 79.

     She was born in Brutus, KY on July 11, 1938; the daughter of Sam and Mary Abner. Kathleen had worked as a custodian, retiring from the Kenton County Board of Education and was also a member of Wilmington Baptist Church. She was very active in the Senior Center and enjoyed dancing and listening to music. Her greatest joy, however, was spending time with her beloved family.

     Kathleen was preceded in death by her parents; devoted husband, Maurice Chapman, Sr.; sister, Geraldine Hoskins and brothers, Paul Abner and Simon Abner.

     She is survived by her loving children, Geraldine “Geri” (Rex) Crane and Maurice “Glenn” (Kristi) Chapman, Jr.; brothers, Sam “Jack” Abner and Lacy Abner; grandchildren, Ben Chapman, Erica Crane-Blackwell and Cory Crane; great-granddaughter, Rylee Crane; as well as many other relatives and friends who will mourn her loss and cherish her memory.

     A visitation for Kathleen will take place from 11:00 AM until the time of the funeral service at 1:00 PM on Friday, June 8, 2018 at Chambers & Grubbs Funeral Home, 11382 Madison Pike, Independence, KY 41051. Burial will immediately follow at Wilmington Cemetery.

     Memorials in Kathleen’s name may be made to the Wounded Warrior Project, P.O. Box 758517, Topeka, Kansas 66675.
