Obituary of Edward Foley
Edward Foley, of Walton, KY passed away peacefully at Grant Center in Williamstown, KY on Monday, November 26, 2018 at the age of 92.
He was born in Madison County, KY on July 15, 1926; the son of the late Oscar and Anna Foley. Edward had worked as a truck driver for Holland Motors and was a member of First Baptist Church of Walton. He enjoyed fishing, reading, gardening and loved to watch University of Kentucky basketball and Cincinnati Reds baseball. Edward also was a Mason at Lodge #719 in Walton, along with being a member of the Shriners and the Scottish Rite. He also bravely served in the United States Navy during WWII. His greatest joy, however, was spending time with his cherished family, especially his grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Mae Foley; daughter, Bobbie Ann Foley Hils; sister, Mary Edith Foley; brothers, J.W. Foley, Herbert Foley and James Foley. Edward is survived by his sons, Eddie (Barbara “Barb”) Foley, Jerry (Vicki) Foley and Darrell (Patty) Foley; sisters, Hazel Gill, Grace Simpson and Augustine Hall; brothers, F.C. Foley and Manford Foley; 9 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great-grandchild; as well as many other relatives and friends who will mourn his loss and cherish his memory.
A visitation will be held from 10:00 AM until the time of the funeral service at 12:00 PM on Saturday, December 1, 2018 at Chambers & Grubbs Funeral Home, 45 North Main Street, Walton, KY 41094. Burial with Military Honors will immediately follow at Walton Cemetery. Memorials in Edward’s name may be made to Susan G. Komen, Department 41831, P.O. Box 650309, Dallas, TX 75265.
