Obituary of Ruth Elaine McVey

Ruth Elaine McVey, age 81, of Ft. Mitchell, KY, passed away peacefully at her home on Saturday, December 1, 2018.

Ruth was born in Independence, KY, to the late William and Kathryn Guttridge. She was a retired secretary for P&G, and teachers aid at Redwood rehabilitation center and Woodland Middle School. Ruth was a member of Calvary Baptist Church, and enjoyed art, collecting antiques, and interior design. She was preceded in death by her sister, Glenna Scheben. Ruth was survived by her husband of 62 years Lloyd McVey; children, Scott McVey, and Jenny (Ryan) Alm; grandchildren, Brennen, Keagen, and Kaiden Alm; and brother, Ron (Beth) Guttridge.

A visitation for Ruth will be held on Friday, December 7, 2018, from 11 am to 1 pm, at Chambers & Grubbs Funeral Home in Independence, KY. Funeral services will follow at 1pm. Interment will take place at Independence cemetery. Memorial donations in Ruth’s name may be made payable to Fair Haven Rescue Mission, 260 Pike St. Covington, KY, 41011 or St. Elizabeth Hospice, 1 Medical Village Dr. Edgewood, KY, 41017.
