Obituary of Joseph Gadd

Joseph Gadd, age 89, of Independence, KY, went on to be with the Lord on Sunday, January 27, 2019 at Elizabeth Hospice in Edgewood, KY. 

He was a retired Car Retarder Operator for CSX & L & N Railroad for over 32 years, pastored for 60+ years at New Testament Baptist Church in Norwood, OH, and filled in at Bethel Baptist Church in Crescent Springs, KY the last four years of his ministry.  Joe enjoyed fishing, hunting, golfing, traveling, and reading his Bible.  His brothers, Bill, Ben, Carl, Hansford, Garrett, Jesse, James, and Sanford Gadd; and sisters, Wanda Gadd and Shirley Johnson, all preceded him in death.  He is survived by his wife (of 71 years), Bernice Lucille Martin Gadd; daughters, Sandy Scroggins (Rick), Donna Haynes (Pastor John), and Tim Gadd (Sheila); brothers, Merrill Gadd and Bobby Gadd; four grandchildren, and twelve great grandchildren. 

Visitation will be Thursday, January 31, 2019 from 5 to 8 p.m. at Chambers and Grubbs Funeral Home in Independence.  Funeral services will be Friday, February 1, 2019 at 11 a.m. at the funeral home.  Pastor John Haynes will be officiating.  Interment will be at Forest Lawn Cemetery in Erlanger, KY.  Memorials may be made to Bethel Baptist Church, 1862 St Johns Rd, Crescent Springs, KY 41017.
