Obituary of Alice Routt
Alice Routt passed away surrounded by her loving family on Saturday, June 8, 2019 at Highlandsprings Nursing Home at the age of 93.
Alice was born in Morris Fork, KY on February 16, 1926; the daughter of the late James and Lily Cornett. She was a lifetime member of Immanuel Baptist Church in Cold Spring, KY. Alice was a kind-hearted and thoughtful woman. She worked as a nurse for Booth Hospital where she enjoyed caring for those she came into contact with. Alice was also an excellent cook. There was no dish she couldn’t make or perfect, much to her family’s delight. Her greatest joy, however, came from spending time with those she loved, her cherished family.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her beloved husband, Rodney Routt. Alice is survived by her loving sons, Danny Routt, Rusty (Elizabeth) Routt and Mike Routt; siblings, Dorothy Combs and Mary Routt; grandchildren, Danielle (Kevin), Bryan (Nichole) and Jamie; great-grandchildren, Kyle, Carson, Autumn, Landen, Cayden and Nolan; as well as many other close relatives and friends who will mourn her passing and cherish her memory.
A visitation for Alice will be held from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM on Wednesday, June 12, 2019 at Chambers & Grubbs Funeral Home, 11382 Madison Pike, Independence, KY 41051. A funeral service will be held at 10:00 AM the following day, Thursday, June 13, 2019 at the funeral home. Burial in procession will take place immediately following the service at Evergreen Cemetery, 25 Alexandria Pike, Southgate, KY 41071.
