Obituary of David Lee Wolfe

     David Lee “Dave” Wolfe, of Morning View, KY passed away at St. Elizabeth Hospital in Edgewood, KY on Monday, June 24, 2019 at the age of 83.

     He was born in Grant County, KY on March 23, 1936; the son of the late Joseph David and Mary Katherine Louise Wolfe. Dave had worked and retired from Liberty Cherry after 47 years of dependable service and was a 62-year member of Wilmington Baptist Church were he served as a deacon with his son. As a young man, he enjoyed hunting, fishing and playing sports. Dave excelled at baseball, even earning a spot with the Cincinnati Reds farm team. He also enjoyed gardening and working on his farm. His greatest joy, however, came from being PawPaw to his granddaughter who was the apple of his eye.

     Dave was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Mildred Henderson; brothers, George Wolfe and Donald Wolfe and a daughter-in-law, Teresa Wolfe.

     He is survived by his true love and faithful wife of 59 years, Mildred “Milly” Wolfe; cherished son, Lorne Wolfe; precious granddaughter, Audriana Wolfe; beloved sisters, Debbie King and Gladys Stevens; as well as other close relatives and friends who will mourn his passing and cherish his lasting memory.

     A visitation for Dave will take place from 4:00 PM until 8:00 PM on Wednesday, June 26, 2019 at Chambers & Grubbs Funeral Home, 11382 Madison Pike, Independence, KY 41051. A funeral service will take place the following day, Thursday, June 27, 2019 at 11:00 AM at Wilmington Baptist Church, 15472 Madison Pike, Demossville, KY 41033. Burial will immediately take place at Wilmington Cemetery located behind the church.
