Obituary of Donald Poe

Donald Norman Poe, age 73, of Florence, KY, passed away Friday, July 26, 2019 at University Hospital in Cincinnati, OH.  He was a Driver for Building Block Early Learning Center in Elsmere, KY, a member of Community Family Church (for over 44 years), and a U.S. Army Veteran.  Don was always working and serving others.  He ran the sound system at church for over 31 years, drove the church bus, served as a lay pastor, and previously worked for U.P.S. and Retail Delivery Service.  When he wasn’t working or serving, he enjoyed fishing, following the weather and most importantly spending time with his wife of nearly 51 years, Pamela Jean Maggard Poe; his children, Lori Poe, Terri Witt (Tim), and Tina Roberts (Terry); and grandchildren, Kayla Matteoli (Alex), Austin Roberts, Mason Roberts, and River Houston.  Don is also survived by his siblings, Barbara Kidd and Gary Poe (Barbara).  Visitation will be Friday, August 2, 2019, from 10 a.m. to 12 noon with services immediately following at noon at Community Family Church, 11875 Taylor Mill Rd., Independence, KY 41015.  Interment with military honors will be at Kentucky Veterans Cemetery North in Willliamstown, KY.  Memorials may be made to Community Family Church.  Chambers and Grubbs Funeral Home in Florence is assisting the family.  For directions, to order flowers, to leave a message of condolence or to share a memory, please visit www.chambersandgrubbs.com.
