Obituary of Ruth Glacken Glenn Meadows

Ruth LaVerne Glacken Glenn Meadows, age 90, of Walton, KY, passed away Friday morning, October 18, 2019 at St. Elizabeth Hospital in Edgewood.  Ruth was the City Clerk of Walton, for 25 years, and at City of Union, for 10 years.  Ruth was a member of First Baptist Church of Walton and Walton Christian Church.  She also belonged to the KY Municipal City Clerks Association, Walton WaNa Club, Eastern Star, and the Crittenden Alumni Association. Over the years, Ruth was a Columnist for the Walton Advertiser and the Boone Recorder.  She was given a “Key to the City” of Walton and was a member of Walton Ministerial Fund.

Ruth was preceded in death by her husbands, Wallace Roland “Buster” Glenn and Maynard Meadows; brothers, Dennis Glacken, Garnal Glacken, and Howard Glacken; son, Pat Glenn, and Stepson Mark Meadows.  She is survived by sons, Mike Glenn (Sandy), Daniel Glenn (Beth); daughter, Peggy Peebles (Greg); and daughter-in-law, Patti Glenn; stepsons: Mike Meadows and Rob Meadows;  eight grandchildren; Hope Glenn, Michele Silcox, Angel Glenn (Darren Weaver) Kelly Turner (Ben), Kaycie Knarr (Nick), Kristen Ridner (Josh), Jessica Spencer (Bob), Gregory Peebles (Amanda),  numerous great grandchildren and numerous great-great grandchild.

Visitation will be Wednesday, October 23, 2019 from 9:30am until time of service at 1:30pm at First Baptist Church of Walton.   Funeral service will be officiated by Bro. David Wiggins and Rev. Kevin Russell.  Interment will be at Walton Cemetery.
