Obituary of Gerald Franklin Finnell

Gerald Franklin Finnell, age 77, of Independence, KY, passed away on Thursday, October 17, 2019 at his residence.  Jerry was an entrepreneur.  He had diversified business interests over the years including being proprietor of Tri-County Supply, co-developing Shaw Estates, and formerly having an interest in In & Out Market.  One of the things Jerry took pride in was being instrumental in getting one of the first self-serve gas pumps in Kentucky at In & Out.  Over the years, Jerry also enjoyed playing & watching sports including golf, basketball (especially U.K. basketball), and most of all the events his children & grandchildren participated in.  His beloved wife, Betty, preceded him in death in 2018.  He is survived by his children, Gina Rene’ Clemons and Anthony Raymond Finnell; brother, Raymond Finnell; and grandchildren, Ashley Lynn Clemons, Heather Nicole Finnell, Lauren Elizabeth Clemons, Benjamin Jerald “BJ” Clemons, Alex Clemons, and Carlee Marie Clemons.  Services will be private at the convenience of the family.  Interment will be at Floral Hills Cemetery in Taylor Mill, KY.  Memorials may be made to the charity of one’s choice.  To leave a message of condolence or to share a memory, please visit www.chambersandgrubbs.com.
