Obituary of Julius Johnson
Julius Johnson, age 73, of Independence, passed away Thursday, November 14, 2019 at St. Elizabeth Medical Center in Edgewood, KY.
He was a retired Welder at LSI Industries and a U.S. Army Veteran. Julius was a “fix-it-man”. He enjoyed woodworking, camping, fishing, dogs, and spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Albert and Evon Thomas Johnson; sister, Betty McIntosh, and daughter, Nellie Johnson.
Survivors include his wife (of 51 years), Jenny Melvin Johnson; children, Melissa Gross, Mandy Johnson, and Shelley Miller; siblings, Anthony Johnson, Lee Johnson, Walker Johnson, Cecil Johnson, Ed Johnson, Wilma Wells, Sue Fugate, Becky Fugate, Julie Johnson, Maxine Johnson, and Mary Neal; grandchildren, Hayley Gross, Will Gross, Tyler Miller, Trenton Miller, and Paisley Hensley.
Visitation will be Wednesday, November 20, 2019, from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. with services immediately following at 12 p.m. at Chambers and Grubbs Funeral Home in Independence. Interment will be at Kentucky Veterans Cemetery North in Williamstown, KY. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Lung Association or Disabled American Veterans, 3725 Alexandria Pike, Cold Spring, KY 41076.
