Obituary of Shannon Michelle (Griffith) Turner

Shannon Michelle (Griffith) Turner, age 47, of New Liberty, KY, formerly of Union, KY, passed away on Monday, December 2, 2019 at her residence.  She was a beloved English teacher at Walton Verona High School, always willing to volunteer to help students and staff with extracurricular activities and senior events.  Over the years, she taught and coached at several other schools:  Georgetown (OH), Glen Este, St. Henry, and Cooper.

A member of St. Timothy Catholic Church in Union, KY, Shannon enjoyed crafting and was an animal lover, but she enjoyed spending time with her family more than anything.  She is survived by her husband of 22 years, Travis Neal Turner; children, Taylor Marie Turner, Maggie Nicole Turner, and Trevor Neal Turner; father, Wayne Griffith; mother, Linda “Weezy” Griffith; sisters, Kelly McAdams, Katie Griffith, and Ashley Catchen (Brandon); grandmother, Norma Griffith; and nieces and nephew, Gracie, Matthew, Darby, and Olive. 

A visitation will be held Thursday, December 5, 2019, from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. in the gymnasium at Walton Verona High School at 30 School Rd., Walton, KY 41094.  The Mass of Christian Burial will take place on Friday, December 6, 2019 at 10 a.m. at St. Timothy Catholic Church, 10272 U.S. 42, Union, KY 41091.  Interment will be at New Bethel Cemetery in Verona, KY.
